This simple 10 minute Mixed Berry Compote Recipe is a perfect sauce to have ready in the kitchen. It is quick and easy and makes every dish you add it to a little more decadent and fancy. Add this berry compote sauce to your pancakes, waffles, french toasts, and other desserts to bring a little extra fresh sweetness to you dish.
Add Strawberries and Blueberries in a medium sauce pan on medium-high heat.
Add granulated sugar, water, and lemon juice to pan.
Once sauce begins to bubble reduce heat and let cook for 3-5 minutes.
Let sauce simmer and reduce on low-medium heat.
Use spoon to mash fruit and mix and combine into sauce.
Remove from heat and transfer into heat-safe container.
Serve hot or allow to cool and refrigerate in airtight container for later use.

STORAGE:Allow to fully cool down before storing in fridge. Can save and use berry compote up to a week. For longer storage option, you can use an ice mold to freeze the compote and reheat when you want to use again. You can use frozen berries as well but cooking time will vary. Use a variation of different berries or a just one type of berry for your compote if you'd like.
