Instructions
Rinse and Peel Plantain.
Cut Plantain into small sized pieces.
Add 1 1/2 to 2 cup of water to a blender.
Add Plantain pieces onto the blender.
Blend until liquid and smooth. If there are still chunks in the mixture, add a little more water and blend for another minute.
In a small to medium pot, boil 1 cup of water with cinnamon sticks and star anise.
Let the water boil for about 3-5 minutes, or until the water changes to a brown color.
Add the plantain liquid into the pot and stir continuously on medium heat.
As you stir, the porridge will reduce and thicken. Once it starts to boil, add your milk and a pinch of salt.
Continue to stir, then add your sweetener of choice. Brown Sugar, Granulated Sugar, or Honey.
Reduce heat to low, and let cook for a few more minutes.
Serve hot with bread and enjoy!.
