Some vegetables that are great and nutritious for you get a lot of hate. Sometimes they are described as bland, nasty, flavorless, or gross. They get pushed to the side and avoided on the plate.

But asparagus doesn’t have to be that. It is actually one of my favorite side dishes. it is simple and easy to prepare. And can sometime be the highlight of the plate.

It all comes does to how you prepare it. I find a little bit of spice and a few minutes in the air fryer is all you need to enjoy delicious, healthy, and versatile asparagus that is perfect for any occasion.

The air fryer transforms the pale and limp greens to a tender and crispy perfection that will have everyone coming back for more.

Ingredients For Air Fryer Asparagus

  • Asparagus. fresh with trimmed ends.
  • Garlic.
  • Olive Oil.

The Perfect Side Dish: Asparagus

Many things will pair well with this versatile side dish. It’s naturally vegetarian, gluten-free, and keto-friendly, so everyone can join the asparagus party.

Toss it into your salad. Pair it with your favorite meat to make a quick and filling dinner, like steak, chicken, or salmon. Have it with Haitian rice, Haitian Griot, and Fried Plantains. Have it with your breakfast, lunch or dinner. Wrap it in bacon, and serve it hot.

How To Make Air Fryer Asparagus

AIR FRYER METHOD: PreHeat Air Fryer to 400°F (200°C). Wash and trim off asparagus ends. Season with salt and pepper. Use additional seasoning if wanted. Drizzle olive oil on top. Add 1-2 cloves of garlic. Mix together and add to air fryer pan. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until crispy and vibrant. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the asparagus. Serve and Enjoy!

If you don’t have an air fryer, you can achieve similar results using the conventional or traditional way as well.

STOVE-TOP METHOD: Heat skillet and drizzle olive oil in pan. Add crushed garlic to the pan. Once the oil becomes aromatic add your pre-seasoned asparagus. Sauté for about 6 to 8 minutes making sure to stir and mix occasionally. Serve with fresh lemon and enjoy.

OVEN METHOD: Preheat over 350°F. Prep asparagus as like air fryer method. Place in an oven safe pan. Cook for 10-15 minutes, flipping half way through. Serve and enjoy.

  • 2 tbsp Olive oil extra virgin
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • ½ Lemon
  • Seasonings:
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Paprika optional
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder optional

Instructions
 

  • PreHeat Air Fryer to 400°F (200°C).
